Welcome to the Murphy Family's Testimony Page!
From Scott:
I was born on October 9, 1962 into a
home where my mother was abandoned by my father. My mother later
filed for divorce which was granted on grounds of desertion. The
Lord was at work in my mother's life through this difficult time,
and she soon heard and accepted the Gospel personally. At the age of
four, I also trusted Christ as Savior and began to grow spiritually.
After visiting and helping a mission work among the Navajo Indian
during the summer of 1969, the Lord led us back to serve and |
minister with the
Navajo in full time ministry. During these years we worked with a
missionary team to establish a Baptist church and Christian school
in a remote area of the reservation at Round Rock. This church
continues today under Native leadership. After eight years of
ministry to the Navajo, we helped pioneer a new work among the San
Carlos Apache, who were yet without a fundamental Gospel witness. We
have rejoiced in seeing a Baptist church planted here as well. I
thank the Lord for the privilege of growing up on the mission field
and personally witnessing the challenges and needs of ministry
to the American Indian.

From Kathy:
I was born in Ohio on
March 7, 1962. I was reared in a religious home and attended church
faithfully. However, because my background was not in a fundamental
church, I never clearly heard God's plan of salvation until I
attended Vacation Bible School at a Bible-believing church at the
age of ten. Up to this time, I had actively sought for spiritual
fulfillment and purpose but had found no answers. What a joy it was
to see in the Bible that God did not expect me to earn my own merit
with Him, but rather that Christ had paid sin's penalty in full, and
simple faith in him was the only way to Heaven. Three years later, I
surrendered my life for missionary service. Scott and I both
attended Bob Jones University, graduating in 1984. The Lord brought
us together in the Spring of 1985 while we both worked at a
Christian camp ministry called "The Wilds". Because of previous
commitments (Scott returned to Regeneration Reservation to work
full-time, and I taught sixth grade at my home church), we
corresponded and visited as we were able. Knowing our lives had been
chosen for each other for the Lord's service, we were engaged in
January of 1986 and married that July. Scott's ordination and
deputation meetings followed our wedding, and we then returned to
Regeneration Reservation. |

The Lord has blessed our family over the years with four
precious children. Jessica was born February 22, 1990.
Sarah was born January 9, 1992. Nathaniel was born April
5, 1995; and Caleb was born June 7, 1997.
We thank the Lord for the privilege of serving
Him through serving the American Indian people. As we seek to train
Indians to reach Indians through the ministry of Regeneration
Reservation, we covet the prayers of God's people as we know it is
only through His power and spirit that souls can be reached and
lives changed.
