From Kari Weldon
I Samuel 12:24 says, “Only fear
the Lord and serve Him in truth with all your heart: for consider
how great things He hath done for you.” Indeed, the Lord has done
great things for me! Having grown up in a home where God and His
Word were not a focus, there were many truths concerning the gospel
that were unknown to me. Yet God promises “and ye shall seek Me and
find Me” (Jeremiah 29:13). In the midst of dealing with personal
and family struggles, I desperately needed someone in my life that I
could rely on and trust. Finally, at the age of fifteen, the Lord
finished putting together the pieces of the gospel puzzle, revealing
the picture of Christ’s death on the cross as payment for my great
sin debt. In belief and repentance, I prayed for God’s forgiveness
and, in gratitude, surrendered my life to His will.
Being an avid reader, I delved
into the world of missionary biographies and discovered the reality
of global outreach to the lost. In my personal Bible study, the
Lord led me to Isaiah 6. As Isaiah bowed before God in utter
humility, the Lord put forth His challenge of who would go and tell
others of Him. Along with Isaiah, my heart shouted “Here am I, send
me!” From that moment on, my focus has been to serve God in the
calling of missions.
As a college student, I interned
at Regeneration Reservation. It was made clear to me how greatly
people were needed to bring forth the truths of God’s Word to
individuals who were ignorant of the hope and help God brings. In
His sovereignty, I joined the full time staff of Regeneration in
2001.
Being a member of the Regeneration
staff has given me many opportunities to witness God’s saving power
and sufficient grace in hardships. Through teaching, discipling,
witnessing, and serving, the Lord has continued to reveal more of
His mighty power and faithfulness. My goal in this ministry is
echoed in the words of Colossians 1::10: “That ye might walk worthy
of the Lord unto all pleasing”! |
