From Phil:
I
was born into a wonderful Christian family in southeastern
Michigan. I was saved when I was about 5 years old and had the
privilege to grow up in a Bible believing, Gospel preaching church.
When I was in 7th grade, my family changed churches to
Faith Baptist Church in Davison. It was here, at this
mission-minded church, that the Lord began to get hold of my heart
and give me a passion for missions. |
As the Lord
allowed me to go on several youth group mission trips (Mexico,
Canada, and New York), He continued to build my passion for
missions. He also directed my interest toward the Native American
people.
In the summer of 2004, at the
recommendation of my Pastor, I spent the summer working alongside
the missionaries at Regeneration Reservation. As a result of that
summer, the Lord continued to direct my heart toward Native
missions. In the spring of 2006 I graduated from Bob Jones
University with a degree in Electrical Engineering and that
December, married my wonderful wife Bethany. Upon completion of a
Master’s in Teaching Bible from the Bob Jones Seminary, we began
making plans to move to Arizona.
The Lord brought us safely to Arizona
in the fall of 2008. We are currently working as tenting making
missionaries. I am a substitute teacher and tutor at the local Fort
Thomas school district (mostly Apache). God has provided our needs
through this work, as well as some great inroads for ministry. We
are so thankful for the opportunity to be working here at
Regeneration Reservation. God has continued to give us a passionate
heart toward the Apache people.
We continue to pray that God would give us wisdom and guidance as we
seek His will for our future. We are very excited as we work towards
shifting from “tent-making” to “full-time” Native ministry. It is
truly a privilege to serve the Lord!

From Bethany:
I was born into an evangelist’s family
and grew up travelling around the country with my family. We did a
lot of singing together as a family and I got a lot of experience
with working with children and puppetry. I was saved at the age of
4, and surrendered my life to do God’s will as a young teenager and
felt that God was calling me to missionary work. After high school I
attended and graduated from Bob Jones University as a church music
major. I met my husband Philip while travelling with my family
during the summer after my freshman year at college. We dated for
the rest of our time at BJU and were married in December of 2006.
In September 2008, we moved from
Greenville, SC to Fort Thomas, AZ to do mission work with
Regeneration Reservation. We live in housing on the ministry
property and enjoy good Christian fellowship with our fellow
workers. I also work at the Fort Thomas Public High School with the
after-school programs. The school is made up of at least 95% Apache
teens and we get a lot of opportunity for exposure to and ministry
with the students.
During the summer of 2009 we worked
with the elementary aged students on the Apache Reservation. We
taught an Arts and Crafts class for the kids under the Fort Thomas
School District. We have gotten to know a lot of the kids pretty
well and feel like we’ve made a lot of headway in building
relationships with families on the reservation.
It has been wonderful to see how the
Lord has worked in supplying our needs and giving ministry
opportunities. We have developed some good friendships with the
Apache people and look forward to building up those relationships
and making more. My experience with the Apache people so far has
taught me more about the power of God and the effectiveness of
prayer.
