Jesus Christ, the sinless Son of God, came to earth, died on the cross for your sins and mine and rose from the dead on the third day. Thus, He paid the penalty for our sins, and offers the free Gift of Eternal Life to all men. This act bridged the gulf that separated man from God.
"But God commendeth (showed) his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)
“For Christ also hath once suffered for sins,
the just for the unjust, that he might bring us
to God…” (I Peter 3:18)
