Man chose to rebel (SIN) against God rather than serve Him. Sin has separated man from God.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
“But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.” (Isaiah 59:2)
What does it mean to sin against God?
Sin is breaking God’s law “Whosoever committeth
sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the
transgression of the law.” (I John 3:4)
We sin by doing what God has commanded us NOT to
do and by NOT DOING what He has told us to do.
(James 4:17). Therefore, we are sinners by nature
and by choice.
There is a penalty for sin.
